At Enterprise Foundry, we utilize a variety of quality assurance techniques to ensure the quality and consistency of our castings. Enterprise Foundry follows a quality management system that has been ISO 9001:2015 accredited. Our checks include:
Production Control All customer parts made by Enterprise Foundry are entered into a computerized database. Our production control department can easily track current production and delivery requirements.
Raw Materials Control Incoming raw materials are ordered to exact specifications. Raw materials are inspected and analyzed in-house and by outside laboratories.
Sand Testing Sand testing is done daily in our in house sand lab. Sand samples are also periodically sent to outside laboratories for analysis.
Thermal Analysis Each heat of gray and ductile iron poured at Enterprise Foundry is analyzed thermally before and after tapping out. Thermal tests taken include temperature, carbon equivalent, percent carbon and percent silicon.
Spectrographic Analysis Enterprise Foundry utilizes an in-house spectrometer to analyze our iron as well as some raw materials. The spectrometer is calibrated on a regular basis using certified standards as well as samples sent to outside laboratories for analysis.
Brinell Testing Enterprise Foundry utilizes several Brinell testers on site. These are calibrated on a regular basis. Brinell readings are taken daily on both as cast and heat treated castings.
Metallographic Analysis Our ductile iron heats and gray iron heats are analyzed metallographically at Enterprise Foundry. Many metallographic samples are also sent to outside laboratories for analysis.
Casting Layout Enterprise Foundry has the capacity to lay out castings on site. This is done on a regular basis in order to assure that castings are to the blueprint dimensions. Layouts are performed to first time or revised castings before allowing them to go to full production.
